This blogger just graduated with a bachelors of science and is one step closer to A Real Gaming Professor. In my post-grad free time this is what I've done:

  1. I wrote something for the Required Reading tab based on an old story of mine, and a whim of getting it up to DBDSU snuff. “ZARZOK & HIS CREATURES V. HUMANITY” is my first attempt at comedy in a long time (If I’ve ever been funny, it was an accident).

  2. I became the owner of not one, but two historic maps of Japan (thank you family!). I fondly remember a cartographic inspiration of mine: Totsugekitai (or Storm Trooper) from Murakami’s "Norwegian Wood.” Reading about the character, five years ago, helped me realize what a stable, yet interesting, career cartography could be.

  3. I got locked out of my apartment on a dry, 90 degree day, and then was suddenly whisked off to the beach for a surprise vacation. I hadn’t a single item with me besides my phone. It was one of the most freeing experience I’ve had in a while.

  4. I started developing a NEW video game in the RPGMaker XP engine, inspired by the game End Roll by Segawa. My last excursion into gamedev taught me to contain my ambitions. So, I’m advancing with a detailed plan of attack: I’m making a short (~4 hour) fantasy adventure. Classic RPG stuff! With some hints of dark fantasy and a little bit of geographic commentary (can’t help myself!).

  5. I returned to my college town post-beach and immediately evacuated my “brick oven” apartment, running straight back to campus. It’s like I’m so attached to the student lifestyle that I had to return ASAP!

All in just a couple of days… I have this growing pressure in my chest telling me I had better things to be doing… But I could probably wait until tomorrow… Hell, maybe next week... Or next month… Whatever…
