I like to think that I’m impervious to nostalgia, but no one really is… You need only take a hard look at the theming of this blog…

One of the many things I’m interested in is early 2000s tech. Some of it I have a personal connection with. Some of it I don’t. Some of it is silly looking. Some of it is cool looking. Most of it is awesome. The Nintendo DS is “All of the above,” so to speak. While I had some great times with the DS, I wonder just how much of my memory is real, and how much is nostalgia-goggles.

Enter: My DSi Dream. A hazy look into how my subconscious operates, with all its little tics and habits and ramblings. This is probably the most personal thing I’ve ever put on Youtube, but if you're a True DBDSU Student it's nothing that crazy. Some old memories, and a lot of places which are important to me. All of it comes back to DS games and playgrounds, if you’re into either of those.

A lot of cool visuals went into this, with the stand-out being the fantastic animation work of @3denemy. I was going for a “community” vibe with this one, and I knew from the beginning that I wanted to commission a real artist. The DS “frame” around most of the video is made by me, and all of the real-life footage was taken on my 3DS! Thumbnail also was mine.

It was a very long production, which seems to be a running theme with my videos thus far. There may be more anecdotes on this in a future blog post, but, for now, please enjoy the dreams. Smiles. Giggles.
