Today on web fun, it's about the human desire to categorize and list. Something I know absolutely nothing about, I swear! It's backloggd.com!
Backloggd is the latest version of Letterboxd, or RYM, to hit the web. This time, it’s for video games. This kind of site is inherently a lil narcissistic (Here’s what I think, etc. etc.) but you can’t deny the fun of building up a log of a buncha cool games you’ve played. Even if you don’t have hundreds to add, or don’t crave building up a log at all, it can be useful to just track what you’ve played and what you still need to. If I tell you to play something, you better add it to your wishlist, okay? Thanks students :)
You can log just about any game there is, from random Xbox 360 crap directly from your cousin’s house, to NEET-ass eroge visual novels. If you’ve played it they probably have it!
Other features include a big list of all the games on the site ordered by popularity/scores/release date etc. Some fun data from here: The oldest game loggable is the “Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device” (incidentally, that’s what they called my bud Ray in college). The lowest rated game is Silent Hill Ascension. Awesome.
If you want to check out how YOUR favorite game stacks up, go to backloggd.com! All DBDSU students are very welcome to follow me @judexau. I have a few short reviews up there too if you want to like them and give me validation. Anyways, the next Web Fun entry won’t be about ranking things like these last two have been. Promise!
