Last day of 2024! Goodbye to a “just fine” year. Not revolutionary for me. Had some fun and some sad. Had a reallllll cold and sleepless winter into a big and bright spring into a grade school throwback of a summer break. Everything since has been a blur, but in all those periods I watched a whole lot of movies! Here’s all (or most) of the ones I watched for the first time, but I’ll spare you from commentary.

Winter/spring watches:

• Knives Out 1 and 2.
• Internal Affairs (2002).
• The Wailing. Too sad I actually couldn’t finish it.
• Oldboy. This one was supremely fucked up.
• Friday the 13th parts 1 and 5.
• The Lodge.
• Gerald’s Game. I watched too many messed up movies 2024!!
• Planet of the Apes 1, 2, and 3.
• Dune 1 and 2.

Summer watches:

• The Revenant.
• Nope.
• High and Low. This started my Kurosawa kick.
• Throne of Blood.
• Ikiru. Genuinely made me cry.
• A Fistful of Dollars.
• For a Few Dollars More. The best of the trilogy if you ask me.
• The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
• Godzilla 2000.
• Godzilla against Mechagodzilla.
• Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S.
• Godzilla Minus One. Love love love the new direction for the series.
• The First Slam Dunk.
• Friday the 13th parts 2 and 4.
• Planet of the Apes 4! Really fun monkey action.

Fall/winter watches:

• Nosferatu (1922).
• Nosferatu (2024). Still gotta see Herzog’s.
• The Holdovers.
• Pulse (2001).
• Tombstone.
• House (1977).
• Miyamoto Musashi (1954).
• Anora. Great, but not for date night… Did not know dat.
• Smile 2. Better than the first!!
• Mary Poppins :)
