I had an insanely busy day yesterday… and my back is sore from carrying the weight of my entire department at work… jk… but I’m excited to announce that my newest video game essay is published… Hooray!

Here it is. Included is an alt version to avoid image issues, or eye-strain.

When the process of writing it started, I was planning on turning it into a video essay. My ideas for it sprawled and sprawled into an extravagant road trip doc mirroring the likes of the Fallout geography video by Noah Caldwell-Gervais. Except, mine would be on the Oregon coast, driving to points shown in-game and shooting footage. Unfortunately, I don’t really have the time, equipment, or money for a project like that.

Instead of spending a whole month recording lines and stitching together pics I can find online just to make something which doesn’t live up to my road trip fantasies, I went for a photo essay. Some of the images are mine, or from friends of mine (Thank you Eva for the dead whale pic!). The rest are lifted from the game. Sources are provided for all other stuff I used.

I’m so proud of my final product and I can’t wait for more people to read it! Because it's hosted on this webpage, I also linked it in my media tab at the top of the site. Yay!
